The NitroMation API is a Web Service based application programming interface (API) to PTC's Pro/ENGINEER.  The NitroMation API interfaces with PTC's J-LINK and can be easily extended by Pro/TOOLKIT.  This enables developers to easily write their own functionality to port existing or create new functionality into our existing Web Service framework.

As an example of its usefulness, all of our mechanical automation products (e.g. Nitro-Cell, Nitro-Program, Nitro-BOM, and the various plug-ins that support them) are built on top of the NitroMation API.  These applications demonstrate the power of the interface and the simplicity of the distribution of applications written with it.

The NitroMation API was designed to enable ANY programming or scripting language compliant with web service technology to interact and control Pro/ENGINEER either locally on a users computer, or control many computers over a network.  This enables you to do very sophisticated automations by creating very simple instructions and procedures.
